Moving Day

Well, the movers were here this morning, and our stuff is all loaded up and on its way to Redlands. I'm finally getting a few minutes of rest... and it feels great! We went out and bought some paper cups so that we can finish off the milk and some of the hot drinks that some thoughtful friends and family bought for us for Christmas. But now it's just time to relax and enjoy some time with family for the holidays. We are very grateful to our friends the Sloats for the offer of a bed for the next few days until we're ready to leave.

The next few days will hopefully be a chance for some rest and socializing. Tonight we hope to see Return of the King again with some of Marshall's friends from work. Tomorrow is "cleaning day" - trying to ensure that the house is presentable for potential buyers to look through it after we're gone. And hopefully we will make it to a Christmas Eve service in the process. On Christmas Day, we will visit with my dad's side of the family. Then Friday, Dec. 26th is "THE BIG DAY" when we leave Pittsburgh and start the trip out west.

The trip will include more chances to visit with family and friends and make several stops on the way. In the end, we should arrive in Redlands on Monday, Jan. 5th. That should give us plenty of time to get settled and for me to continue my job search from a much better distance before Marshall starts work on Monday, Jan. 12. So things here are progressing quite nicely. Please continue to pray for me to find a job quickly when I get there, although there are at least a few good leads at this point. God is good! Thanks for checking in on us. Be sure to keep in touch as we are in this transition. :-)

    Hello Lara,

Sorry I didn't get a chance to say good-bye officially last Friday, I ended up taking a vacation day to prepare for the trip home to Harrisburg. Glad to hear you had a day (or hours) of some relaxation! That always helps, especially since you've been running around like a crazy women these past few weeks. Hope your holidays were good and can't wait to get some updates in a few weeks! You are already missed her at USBank!! Best wishes on your cross country trip!
